年越しそば

It is a Japanese culture that took root in the Edo period, and since buckwheat is easier to cut than other noodles, it is eaten on New Year’s Eve before New Year’s Eve in the sense of “cutting off the disaster of the year.” As of 2012, 57.6% of people eat toshikoshi soba on New Year’s Eve, indicating that the custom is deeply rooted. It is a culture that can be seen all over Japan, and there are various forms of soba that show the characteristics of each region. Wikipedia

On the night of December 31st(New Year’s Eve), we eat New Year’s Eve soba. I don’t think about why I eat it, and I eat it out of habit. There are many people who are looking forward to this tradition. About half of the Japanese people watch a long-established TV song program called Kouhaku Uta Gassen, in which male and female vocalists compete for evaluation, and eat soba around the New Year. If you are not accustomed to eating buckwheat, beware of buckwheat allergies. Even so, I ate a lot of noodles this year too, but there were so many ingredients that I couldn’t see the noodles!

12/31の夜は年越しそばを食べます。なんで食べるのかとか考えずもう習慣で食べています。この風物詩を楽しみにしている方も沢山います。紅白歌合戦という女性ボーカルと男性ボーカルで評価を競い合う老舗テレビ歌番組を国民の半分が見て、年を越す前後にそばを食べます。食べなれていない方はそばアレルギーに注意です。それにしても、この年も麺類を沢山食べましたが、麺が見えないほど具沢山でしたね！
