The Japanese consider Christmas Eve and Christmas to be a feast day. Lovers think it’s flirting day, children think it’s Santa’s day when they bring presents, people who have a lot of friends think it’s party day, and single people think it’s sadness. I think it’s a day to enjoy a feeling of liberation, and a day for families to get together and have fun. But everyone feasts and exchanges gifts.

日本人はクリスマス・イブまたはクリスマスをごちそうを食べる日だと思っています。恋人はイチャイチャする日だと思っているし、子供はサンタさんがプレゼントを贈ってくれる日だと思っているし、友達が多い人たちはパーティーをする日だと思っているし、独り身の人は哀愁や解放感を楽しむ日だと思っているし、家族間でもなんとなく集まってわいわいする日だと思っています。しかし、全員共通でごちそうを食べたりプレゼント交換したりします。

We all know that Christmas is a Christian event. However, in Japan, Christmas is a lively commercial event. The city is decorated with illumination, and the house is decorated with a tree and it’s a big excitement! However, most Japanese are not Christians. Japan believes in eight million gods, the majority of which are unconscious polytheists who believe they have no religion.

クリスマスはキリスト教関連のイベントということはなんとなくわかります。けれども、日本では商業的なイベントとしてクリスマスは盛り上がります。街はイルミネーションの飾り付けをし、家でもツリーを出してデコレーションをし、大盛り上がり！しかし、ほとんどの日本人はキリスト教徒ではありません。日本は八百万の神を信仰しており、無宗教信者だと思い込んでいる無意識多神教信者が大多数です。
