Wonton Shrimp tsumire Hot Pot

ワンタン海老つみれ鍋

Tsumire is a kind of boiled kamaboko made by kneading fish meat and heating it in hot water. A fish paste product similar to tsumire, in which fish meat is kneaded and solidified in hot water, was already being made in the Edo period. The origin of the name is derived from the word tsumi-ire, which is said to have originated from the fact that the kneaded fish meat was first pinched with the fingers and put into hot water. つみれは、魚肉を練り、湯の中で加熱した茹でかまぼこの一種です。魚肉を練って湯の中で固めるつみれに似た練り製品は、江戸時代にはすでに作られていました。名前の由来は、摘入れ（つみいれ）から転じたもので、当初は練った魚肉を指でつまんで湯に入れて作っていたためといわれています。下記の記事より引用↓

丸めた魚肉がつみれとはなんぞや？と思っていましたが上記からなんですね！地域の食べ方にもよりますが、肉団子が和製ミートボール、その中でも鶏肉の団子がつくね、魚肉を丸めて鍋に入れたものがつみれ、単なる団子が和菓子であるのが一般的です。

本日のつみれは海老と魚肉の加工物です。なかなか弾力があります。ワンタンは元々中華料理の一種ですが海老の風味とよく合います。ちなみに鍋の奥には肉団子も野菜も豆腐も入っており、栄養満点です！
