日本では長期休暇がなかなか取れません。夏期休暇はお盆休み(帰省やお墓参りをするための休み)の8/15前後、3日～6日位です。１週間以上も休むと職場で居心地が悪くなりますので、どうしても長期休みたい人は致し方ない休暇の理由(介護や育児、実家の農業手伝い等)を会社に述べないといけません。学生も高校生までは１ヶ月と１週間位夏休みがありますが、宿題がモリモリ出ます。毎日の絵日記や計算ドリル、自由研究(工作含む)、読書感想文、等々。多くの日本人が宿題を後回しにしてしまいますので、夏休みが終わりを告げる8/31が悪夢の思い出です。自由に２ヶ月位休めるのは大学時代だけでしょう。欧米は宿題もなく３ヶ月休めると聞いたときはむっちゃ羨ましかったです。しかし、クマタモは引きこもりなので一年以上お休み。
